Pakistani Scholars Gather in Qom to Honor Martyred Leader, Vow to Uphold Resistance

A major seminar titled "Reviver of Islamic Awakening and Standard-Bearer of Resistance" was convened in the holy city of Qom, drawing a large gathering of Pakistani clerics and seminary students residing in Iran.

Hawzah News Agency- Hosted by the Shia Ulema Council of Pakistan at the Ghadir International Conference Center, the event honored the legacy of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution while addressing the duties of religious scholars in the modern era.

Blood of the Martyred Leader Immortalized the Revolution’s Message

Addressing the gathering, Hojatoleslam Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi, head of the Shia Ulema Council of Pakistan, stated that the pure blood of the martyred Leader has further illuminated and immortalized the grandeur of the Islamic Revolution and its message.

He noted that the outpouring of condolences and solidarity from followers of various religions and denominations proves that the tragic martyrdom has shaken the awakened consciences of justice-seekers worldwide, with all acknowledging the towering stature of the fallen Leader.

A Call for Self-Development, Knowledge, and Organizational Discipline

Directing his remarks to the seminarians present, Naqvi stressed that cultivating scientific and intellectual capabilities is a heavy responsibility, as the future guidance and leadership of the Shia community will rest on this generation's shoulders.

He underscored the necessity of discipline, planning, and cohesion in both individual and collective activities, asserting that success can only be achieved through organized, purposeful, and continuous effort. He further revealed that a controversial bill, heavily backed by certain political currents, failed to acquire legal status due to the effective follow-up and efforts of the Shia community, calling it a clear example of how unity and vigilance can successfully defend the rights of the nation.

Emphasis on Islamic Unity and Coexistence

The senior Pakistani cleric reiterated the critical importance of Islamic unity, stating that just as unity among Muslims is essential, solidarity among the believers holds a special status. He emphasized that the Shia community has always stressed mutual respect among all Islamic schools of thought and has often refrained from reacting to certain issues to protect the higher interests of the religion, the nation, and society.

Naqvi added that the martyred Leader’s vision—built upon the unity of the Ummah and respect for the sanctities of other denominations—has left profound and valuable achievements within Pakistan.

On the issue of pilgrims, he warned that efforts to solve their problems are ongoing, but responsible institutions must fulfill their duties properly. While affirming the Shia community's deep commitment to Pakistan's security and stability, he cautioned that if circumstances force the community to launch a public movement for pilgrims' rights, "everyone is aware of the consequences." He urged officials to resolve the issue urgently and responsibly.

The Role of Religious Leadership in Societal Guidance

Hojatoleslam Syed Kazim Raza Naqvi, another Pakistani scholar, highlighted the decisive role of the martyred Leader—Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei—in guiding the Islamic Revolution, while recognizing the pivotal role of Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi in leading the Shia community in Pakistan.

He stated that the Islamic Revolution granted dignity and authority to religious scholars, proving that a sincere scholar upholding his divine responsibility can dismantle even despotic regimes. According to him, the very ideology embodied by Imam Hussein (PBUH) in the Ashura uprising lives on and has been revived in the discourse of the Revolution's Supreme Leader.

He concluded that any real transformation begins with the inner reformation of the individual, stressing that one who fails to implement Islamic teachings in his personal life cannot claim to establish an Islamic system in society.

Islamic Revolution: A Source of Honor for Islam and Hope for the Oppressed

Hojatoleslam Shabbir Hasan Maisami, Secretary-General of the Shia Ulema Council, addressed the crowd by affirming that the Islamic Revolution raised the flag of Islam with honor, presenting a model of leadership where the Leader himself stands ready for sacrifice rather than sending others.

He noted that after the Leader's martyrdom, prominent figures from various schools of thought in Pakistan acknowledged his lofty stature. Maisami stressed that the hopes of the world's oppressed remain fixed upon the Islamic Revolution and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
